Our team of wealth managers has more than 80 years of combined experience and serves more than $300 million in brokerage and advisory assets through LPL Financial.  


OUR STORY


Our founding member started practice in 1978 with a guiding principle in mind: do the right thing.  As our practice has grown, and as the investment world evolved, we've evolved our approach around that principle.  In 1990, we joined LPL Financial because we believed that in order to do the right thing, we had to be independent.


 

Fee-Based Fiduciary for over 25 years.


In the early 1990s, LPL Financial was among the first broker/dealers to introduce a new platform that enabled its advisors to act as a fiduciary for their clients and manage their investments on a fee basis.

We recognized that, unlike the existing commission-based brokerage services of the time, fee-based asset management enabled us to sit on the same side of the table with our clients by aligning our business success with our clients' financial success.  Just as importantly, it allowed us to act as a fiduciary and meet a higher standard for acting in the best interests of our clients.


Team-centric approach


Throughout the 1990s, technology increased the complexity of the investment world to the point where we believed that a sole financial advisor could not do all things well enough to truly act in his clients' best interests.

In response, we evolved into a team-based planning and investment firm.  Rather than an office of individual producers managing their own individual clients, we created a team-based approach in which every client we have is a client of the firm as a whole.  We made our advisors partners of the group, and aligned their compensation with the success of the group as a whole, which in turn relies on the success of our clients.


Plan-centric management


In 2008, we were reminded that as much as we try, we can't control everything.  So we redoubled our efforts into getting the maximum benefits out of the things that we can control.  Clients of the Wealth Planning Group start with a financial plan. 

Our primary focus is on understanding your goals, developing a plan, appropriately allocating your assets in accordance with that plan, while monitoring and measuring progress on an ongoing basis. 

Along the way, we work with your CPA and attorney in an effort to keep your fees low, to be efficient with your taxes, to protect your interests, and to manage your income streams to work toward your individual goals and those of your estate.


A history of success


By 2016, we had built a team of 9 and had surpassed $300 million in brokerage and advisory assets served through LPL Financial with clients in 35 states.  As our brand emerged and our business grew, we felt like we needed a new identity to reflect our evolution, and The Wealth Planning Group was born.
